I am one of the founding members of the GA chapter of Coalition for Schools Educating Mindfully. Coalition of Schools Educating Mindfully (COSEM) is an educator-led 501c3grassroots nonprofit supporting school communities by connecting them with learning experiences, mentors, and resources for mindfulness-based social, emotional, and cognitive learning to help create a culture of mindfulness in our schools. By joining forces and assisting each other as we implement holistic approaches to education, we equip our communities with skills to heal and thrive, and create a more equitable, compassionate world. COSEM’s intention spoke directly to me. I joined this coalition of mindful educators across the country and began offering practices through Cosem which led to the creation of the first chapter of COSEM in the state of Georgia open to all educators who are leading this work, or supportive of this work. We hold quarterly meetings where we share practices, resources, and support other educators interested in this work. For more information visit our website.
